I am very interested in everything related to making money online. So many programs are out there and I have been reading a lot about those.
More and more bloggers are now using their blogs to make some money. Some of them just intend to make some residential income (my case) which is often insignificant. Some others created blogs intentionally to make money out of it, and a few of those succeeded to realize substantial profits that can reach thousands of dollars per month.
Some might ask : Who wouldn't be interested in making the most money out of anything? Well, no one I guess. The only problem is that it needs a full time availability to turn a simple blog into a significant wheel of fortune.
In both cases, the success of such endeavors depend essentially on the traffic the site/blog brings. So generally, the first concern of those blogs' owners is how to drive traffic. Which was one of my concerns too when I first started my blog. Apart of being subscribed to syndication sites, offer RSS subscription, talk about it to friends, it's always a good idea to look for other opportunities.
I am starting to try BLOGRUSH which actually lets you place a widget on your blog that show some post titles of blogs belonging to BlogRush network. The consequence of this is that your titles will be displayed on the BlogRush network, too. In theory, this should bring more traffic. I will keep you posted about this one.
Once you have a descent traffic, here is a list of the most common money makers to use :
- Google Adsense : It's THE ads network by Google. It is the most performing one and is very easy to set up. I use it on this blog. It doesn't generate regular income, but it's normal knowing that the traffic I generate isn't that big.
- Bidvertiser : It's the same concept than Google Adsense. The big difference is in the way smaller network it offers. But the positive point is the low payout of $10, compared to the $100 of Adsense.
- Agloco : It's a new program that asks you to install a Viewbar that displays ads while you surf the web and pays you for it and for the navigation of your referrals.
It still didn't start paying, so nobody knows how accurate is this, but it's risk free since it's free to join.
- AuctionAds : Places ads on your blog showing ebay auctions for the category of articles you choose. You get commissions on the sales you generate. Update Sept 25th, 2007 : AuctionAds are offering $25 automatically to every new subscriber.

If u want to have a decent traffic u have to be :
* famous.
* Posting about people.
* Posting about sex
so if u wana make some extra cash at the last of the month start posting about sex, making out of anything u said ;)

No seriously, it depends on the main purpose of the blog. Some blogs are made to generate money, like this one : http://www.johnchow.com/ . This one generated $17,000 in the month of august alone.
But when you are just trying to get some extra cash to pay for your blog hosting service or little stuff like that, you just keep on doing what you do and try to post about things that interest people (which any blogger yearns to do anyway)
